In 2021 I wrote a weekly zine exploring the Language of Flowers. One of the themes I explored was the connection between flowers and astrology. A Song for Taurus Season
Dahlia’s have a long and well established relationship with the sign of the Bull, Taurus. Dahlia is a beautiful, abundant bloom, with sturdy petals and warm tones. All of these traits are also associated with Taurus, the Venus-ruled Earth Sign of Spring.
Each issue of 52 Petals that honors one of the twelve astrological signs has an invitation to craft a song for the season. Flowers vibrate with the language of the universe, helping us find our own songs to sing each day in praise of cosmic magick.
Using words associated with Taurus and Dahlia that I found in my every growing word pool I crafted my own blessing, prayer, or song, honoring all that Taurus Season has to offer us. I was inspired by words like...

I was also influenced by the Tarotscopes for Taurus Season. The key message of the season was to return to basics, to enjoy the simple things, to see the world as it truly is, without any filters or rose-tinted glasses. This Taurus Season is also influenced by Pluto and Mercury Retrograde, and several powerful eclipses. All of these astrological happenings inspired by Taurus Season Son.
