52 Ripples

Publication Dates: The goal is to publish 52 Ripples twice monthly. (The original 52 Series were weekly, hence the name 52, however this is no longer a feasible schedule.) One issue will be published for the Khaleidoscope Zine Club through Patreon and mailed at the end of the month. The second will be published virtually to the Khaleidoscope Zine Archive on the Third Thursday of the month.

• Accepted contributors will be contacted by email within one month of submission. After one month has elapsed inquiries may be sent to arts@khirilee.com

Submission Windows: At this time offerings may be submitted at any time and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Submissions must be sent through the google form. Offerings submitted through other formats will be dismissed.

Submission Fee: There is no fee to submit your work.

Payment: At this time, I am unable to offer payment for published work. Five copies of the published zine will be sent to the contributor, which they may keep, archive, sell, donate, or do whatever else with they please.

Offering Medium: Any media that can be shared in print form is a welcome offering. If you can weave your offering into a watery theme I am interested in seeing what you have to offer!

• WRITING: Fiction, non-fiction, essays, poetry, journal entries, dreams, guides and how-to's, lists of songs on the theme of Water will be considered.

• ART: Painting, collages, photography, drawings, comics, fiber art, printmaking, and beyond focused on water will be considered.

• Zines are printed in Full Color

• I am open to creative ideas for music, video, or performance through the use of QR codes, stills, or publication in the virtual archive, feel free to contact me with queries before submitting.

Ownership & Creative Rights: Offering submissions must be original works of the contributor.

• The use of AI in the creation of an offering must be disclosed. Offerings made solely by human hands are more likely to be accepted for the zine.

• By submitting an offering, you grant 52 Ripples the right to publish your work in our the zine, both in print and digital format indefinitely. You retain the copyright to your work and may republish it elsewhere after the anthology is released.

• If your offering has been previously published it is the responsibility of the contributor to know if you are within the agreements of the previous publication before submitting the offering again here. 52 Ripples and Khiri Lee are not responsible for the management of agreements between the creator and other publications in regards to submissions.

Accepted Offerings: Accepted offerings will be featured in a single issue of 52 Ripples alongside a creative credit to the contributor. 

• 52 Ripples is an eight-page folded zine printed on a single sheet of 11x17 paper. Some issues of the zine will be published virtually, following the same formatting restrictions as the print issues. Due to this writing submissions is limited to 300 words.

• Zines and accepted contributors are promoted on Patreon, Instagram, The Creative Coven Discord, and the Invoked Newsletter. Accepted contributors are encouraged to share the project on their own networking channels.

• 52 Ripples Zines are sent to the Khaleidoscope Zine Club through Patreon monthly, sold at in person events by Khiri Lee Arts and Khaleidoscope Zines, and shared virtually to the Khaleidoscope Zine Archive through the Invoked Newsletter hosted on Substack.
